WYR the internet trolled you by speculating black mould has been poisoning your brain or that you're the villain at a new film set?
Context: This week’s Would You Rather references the JK Rowling mould meme which is more conspiracy theory than meme and theorises that the mould in her house turned her into a TERF. The second part refers to a rumoured feud between staff on the set of It Ends With Us, the Colleen Hoover film adaptation coming out soon.
Georjia: Black mould is nasty and I must be really confused or wild for people to think it is poisoning me. Maybe they’re being nice and trying to help. It’s the internet, who am I kidding? Being the off-camera villain on a film set is a big reputation to have. We all remember Don’t Worry Darling, and we all love seeing little conspiracy theories about the possible drama on set but I don’t think I could cope with being the evil one in that scenario. I’d be there begging and pleading for the vibe to change, switch it up and blame someone else. Then again, if that rumour is there, maybe I should take a long look in the mirror and think why people love the thought of me being a villain. It’s still less harmful than black mould though. I think I’d be the villain, it’s safer.
Annie: In both cases, people are speculating there’s something wrong with me. Whether there actually is mould in my home or whether I actually am a horrible person on set is almost irrelevant. If my behaviour is awful enough that people think it must come from a source outside of myself, then I think I’d have some serious reflecting to do. Being at the centre of a rumoured feud is horrible, but at least people don’t have enough information to know whether I’m actually the villain of this story. The way I look at it, I’d rather people speculate whether I’m evil or not, than for them to look for reasons why I definitely am.
